Study English at a Farmstay on Kangaroo Island, South Australia
I teach conversational English privately on Kangaroo Island, South Australia.
You can learn not only English but also about the natural environment, how to grow a food garden and propagate plants, make crafts from natural materials.
You will go on nature hikes, see lots of koalas, kangaroos, wallabies and other native animals in the wild, enjoy the farm animals as well as the pet kangaroo, see the beauty of Kaangaroo Island's bushland and wonderful coastline, visit local people in their homes and join in with local community events.
You can book to stay for a minimum of a week up to several months. I have had lots of Japanese and Koreans stay at our home and they love it. This is what one student wrote in our guest book when she left:
"Thank you very much for everything.

To be honest, now I don't want to write this letter,

because my heart is filled with sorrow of parting.

I could practice so much English.

You told me recipes of biscuits.

I learned how to make bread.

I could know how to propagate flowers.

You took me everywhere I wanted.

I found the nice flavour of mint tea from your garden.

You always waited while I was thinking.

I became aware of the sound of the wind.

You showed me a life with love.

I loved to go walking in the forest or bush.

You gave me a lot of words which encouraged me.

I'll come back here someday.

I wish you will come to Japan for my wedding!

Kaori. (Tokyo)"

I accept students of any age, from five years old, accompanied by a parent or carer, up to 95. Usually I have only one or two students at a time. You can come alone, with a friend or with a group. You can even book to be the only student (at an extra cost) if you want to be sure of one-on-one English lessons.

Please email me if you would like more information.

Re:Where to study Spanish abroad? Suggestions?
I was in Antigua, Guatemala for 2 weeks studying Spanish. Everything's low-key, very affordable, and for the most part the people there are so friendly and encouraging to foreigners trying to learn Spanish. Have fun!

studying & working abroad
I was thinking about going abroad to study & work after college. Unfortunately I can't postpone my studies to have a gap year. Anyone has a suggestion how to go? To be honest, I don't want to be an au-pair, but I don't know about other possibilities. I heard about the CCUSA program to work in the US for 3-4 months but I don't like that. So, being an au-pair, or just study in a language school? Experiences?
