My pet
I live in Duisburg, Germany. I have a cat named Kira. She is 11 years old and her fur is all black. I like dogs, too, but I don't have a dog. But I regularly take a friend's dog for a walk. Gina is an old yorkshire terrier; will be 16 in November.

Hello Igor,
the bird that is called “godwit” in English is called «веретенник» in Russian. The species of godwit which you read about on bbc.com was _Limosa lapponica baueri_ — “bar-tailed godwit” in English, «малый веретенник» in Russian. The record for non-stop flight distance that was set in 2007, by a bird known as “E7”, was broken in 2020 by a bird of the same species known as “4BBRW”.

I noticed that you live in a village somewhere in Russia. I'm across the world in the countryside of Japan, but I am Canadian from Montreal, where everyone is forced to work in Old French. My grandsons are now 21 and almost 23, my wife here, and their minds are all Japanese. I am happy to chat on any topic, hoping to think a more Western way. We were most recently in Sichuan, China, and that country has a booming economy, is beautiful, with very friendly local folks. Surprise, surprise.
