Hi, I am reading "Pauline" by Alexandre Dumas, a book which talks about the life of a weird woman of whom we only know the name. It's captiving !

Before, I was reading "La couleur des sentiments", or in its first name : "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett. But I had read it in French because I am French. I also really love it, beacause of the humour of the characters and their reality. This book made me discover a situation that I don't know at all, so I was eager to read it until the last word !

I'm currently reading "It" by Stephen King.

As far as I'm concerned, King is one of the best horror / suspense writers, and I really enjoy his books. If you like this kind of books, you could give it a try!
Another writer I've discovered recently, close to King's style, is Dean Koontz. The couple of books I've read so far are very good.

I've resently finished reading "Karamazov Brothers" of Dostoyevsky. It was very hard book for me. Now I'm reading "Solaris" of Stanislav Lem. It is phylosofic and fanastic story, very profound work.

What book you reading?
I have just finished reading all of Victor Pelevin's books in translation. In my humble opinion he is one of the best post modern writers in Russia. Not only is he very funny with his dark satire he is also very philosophical. His magical realism reminds me of Mikhail Bulgakov. I can not wait for more of his books to be published.

I am now about to read Vladimir Makanin who shares similar themes to Pelevin.

My native language is English, but I am reading it in Spanish and you're absolutely right! The books are fabulous. I can't comment on the movie, because I haven't bothered to see it yet.

Let me know if you find another treasure which I could read in Spanish translation.

Re:So, what book you reading?

I try to traduce with the language i'm trying to learn:

Reading is my passion, I read 3-4 books for a month approximately ! I read every kind of books but i prefer horror literature, thriller or the best for me is fantasy. I'm hardcore fan of Game of thrones by GRR Martin, and i'm looking forward the next book.

Re:So, what book you reading?
I am really interested in books and reading is my first interest.
Nowadays I do not have much time to read but I try to read at least one book a month.
Last books that I read and enjoyed a lot was a Persian book, it was about the life of a brutal man and what he did to his wife an girlfriend. The name was" Te last Wineglass". it was a good book just to fill your free time.To be honest, I haven't read any valuable book.
But last year I read a book about an Afghan boy who was born and grow pi Afghanistan and then they immigrate to U.S.The name of book was" Kite Runner".
I really really enjoyed it and it changed my opinion about this country and the people. After reading this book I am not the same by no means. It really broadened my horizons.

Hello there. I'm a Tolkien fan who is here to give you encouragement---DO NOT THROW THE BOOK! :) I felt the same way at first, but be more patient with it and it'll soon be worth it. I guess such is the case when you're reading about a very developed and complex set of realms. Have you read G.R.R. Martin's series "A Song of Ice and Fire"? You should give it a try, too. Cheers!

I am reading the book " the umbrella man" writting by Roald Dahl. It is a funny book and ironic about the human behavior. Sometime Roald Dahl descibes the british society with a acute view and a litlle bit philosophy. This book is wonderful.
