Hi Emily,
you can only reply to a “Hi!” message if you are a Gold Member here. If you’re not a Gold Member, then you can only send a “Hi!” message in response. If the person who sent the “Hi!” message to you is a Gold Member, your “Hi!” response could be regarded as an invitation for that person to send you an e-mail, in which case that person would send an e-mail to you and you would be able to reply with an e-mail. If the person who sent the “Hi!” message to you is not a Gold Member, then you will not be able to send each other e-mails here.
