beautiful places to visit in China
I hope I'm putting this question in the right forum, especially for those who know first-hand. What are the most scenic and beautiful places to visit in China? I'm thinking in terms of natural scenery, not big and crowded cities. I know China is so big and there are so many choices, but if you have a suggestion or opinion, please share. I heard these three provinces were particularly nice: Yunnan (like the city, Dali), Guanxi and Xinjiang.

Xi'an is my hometown and I love it.Î÷°² is an old city and was the capital of seven dynasties. If you come to china, Xi'an is a good choice. Welcome to china!

Good Evening!
I have never been to China although I have a friend who lived in Xinjiang for 12 years. Yes it is undoubtedly beautiful however it is a dangerous place, very very poor and aids and other illness is rife. These are very important facts to consider when travelling anywhere in the Western provinces especially. I dont mean to discourage you, in fact one day i hope to travel to Xinjing, its just a 'heads up' :) Kell

Well, I'm a Chinese female settle in Shanghai now. But I was born in Xinjiang, it's my hometown. My parents still live there and I just flied back from there one weeks ago.
I don't agree "it is a dangerous place, very very poor and aids and other illness is rife." But this opinion is natural for the person who NEVER been there.
I am 26 years old but never know a person who have AIDS or other strange illness.
Yes, it's not so convenience for a foreigner to travel ALONE in Xinjiang since there is not so many people can speak English.You probably need a interpreter.
Again, it's NOT dangerous. It's just a litter poorer but very beautiful place WITHOUT war or strange epidemics.
Aug and Sep is the travel season to Xinjiang. You can visit lake of Kanas, one of the "World Natural Heritage", and have a taste of many fresh and sweet fruits. I've travelled to many places but so far, didn't find a watermelon or grape better than that from Xinjiang .

Thanks for the local perspective about Xinjiang - a part of China which a lot of us don't seem to know about. I went online and saw a lot of nice, scenic pictures of this province, including Kanas and Tianchi Lake. Beautiful!

I think you could visit YunNan, there are many places to see, beatiful and natural. You join a tour group together, so you could have arranged transport and accomodation, and see the places you want to.

hello,I am chinese and I suggest that you should visit province Sichuan. there are so many amazing places and amazing foods for you.
Jiuzhaigou is the best choice. (You can see the scenery in the film 'hero' ). If you want to see the royal plaza you should go to Beijing, and I think usually you should take the flight to Beijing at first because it is an international port. the best season to sichuan and beijing is setp and oct.
