I encourage students to get into the flow of conversation. I try to find topics that are of interest to my students to make lessons more fun and interesting, and hopefully more memorable!
These are some of the teaching materials I use:
- Articles about recent news and what is happening in the world
- Subjects like art, science and entertainment
- Recordings or videos and discussion
- We can look at specific requests like practising for a speech or exam
- All of these I can do while giving advice on how to say things in natural sounding English!

I believe in language immersion techniques for beginners to allow them to become familiar with all aspects of English language learning at the same time. Speaking, reading, writing, and listening.
F or school students at an International school (for example), I coach students in appropriate use of subject-relat ed language.
If I am working with tertiary level students or professionals , we work quite specifically towards meeting student identified goals with authentic role-plays, support with editing and more advanced tasks related to the field of development. |
