I believe that most of the people have problems learning a language just because they are not exposed enough to it.
By saying this I mean that it is not enough to simply study grammar and to read few books.
Hum an being tends to emulate and "copy" the other person by default, like mirroring.
T herefore I think the best way to get to know a language is to hear it frequently, and to make the effort to express yourself copying the accent and words from the interlocutor.
We learn by making mistakes and corrections, but sometimes having a teacher to help us along the way can make the journey faster and more pleasant! |

As people differ in purposes when studying a language, I teach according to the students needs. If for example you just want to improve your speaking skills, then we will focus on pronunciation , basic grammar and useful vocabulary to develop your oral skills in different areas. At the same time we will use other methods such as learning through music, poetry, magazines, movies, etc. and creating a funny and comfortable environment in order to enhance not only your language skills but also your confidence and motivation to keep learning.
Besides, I consider that learning a language also needs a personal focus. That is to say, learning sentences such as "I like watching TV" might be very useful to learn grammar structures, but sometimes we realize we don't really find this sentences useful when we want to express ourselves.So, a personal focus to learn how to express ourselves, what we really like or need, will help to carry out our purpose. |
