I use my voice very sparingly in my ASL classes. If students hear everything spoken while their teacher is signing, they tend to focus on what they hear rather than what they see. I use simultaneous communication (signing and speaking at the same time) before and after the formal class or tutoring time to answer students' questions. |

I start you at basic ABC's and 123's so you get a good foundation from the beginning. If you are past the ABC's we can move on from there! Flexibility is they key! I encourage my students to go to silent dinners and coffees so that you get native signing experience with Deaf people. |
