In my opinion having fun is one of the key elements when teaching a language. I think having a good understanding of each other and respect are also truly important. Depending on your needs we will focus on the skills you want to improve. I am quite knowledgable in a lot of topics and love good discussions. Being a language learner myself I understand how hard it can sometimes be. I am patient and understanding when it comes to being shy. I have a lot of experience with all sorts of students from all background and ages (6 to 87).
Ich persoenlich finde, dass Spass beim Lernen sehr wichtig ist. Zudem sind gegenseitiger Respekt und ein gutes Verstaendnis fuer einander ebenso wichtig. My approach is to listen to the student's goals and help them to achieve these goals. In a larger classroom setting, I provide a balance of conversation, listening comprehension , and grammar with an absolute focus on communication . For homework, I assign texts to read and activities that practice the vocabulary and grammar learned in class. My idea is to present the most practical material so that the students are able to get the most out of their lessons.
Of course, different individuals have different definitions of what is "practical" for them. When tutoring an individual or small group of students, it is possible to cater completely to the individual's needs. My flexible attitude allows me to concentrate on the student's chosen aspects of the language. |

I like the close personal one-to-one relationship a student and a teacher develop in tutorials. I believe tutoring is the best way for a student to learn and for a teacher to spot the weaknesses in a student's knowledge and then work on them.
