I know some basic grammar (regular conjugation, some basic irregulars) and have a minimal phrasebook vocabulary ('How are you? Where is Bob?' etc) in Farsi, but I am very motivated to become conversationa l in it.
I work and socialize with a number of Persians. While
they'r e supportive of my learning Farsi, we really don't
have many opportunities to get together and actually _study_ the language. I'm fortunate in that I have access to native speakers, but I lack a formalized curriculum or
student/t eacher environment. My goal is to become conversationa lly proficient in Farsi. I'm willing to dedicate a couple (4-5) hours a week to this, as well as study on my own time. I have a few books on it (a phrase book, Thackston's grammar book, a dictionary), but frankly could use some correction. I have no knowledge of Persian script- while this interests me, it's not a priority.
I'm looking for an instructor who can help me get organized and methodical in learning the language, who's motivated to teach, and who doesn't mind a lot of questions.
