Dear Potential Teacher,

G ood morning. I'm writing this message based on reviewing your profile on this site. It has been my long standing desire to learn Hindi and Sanskrit in a systematic way (with first preference to Hindi since it's more useful in day to day communication ). I have briefly studied Sanskrit a while ago when I was studying during my college days, so I'm a bit familiar with the Devanagari script and I can speak/write some basic Hindi sentences but otherwise I'm pretty much a beginner. My immediate goal of learning Hindi would be to be able to speak and write well enough so that native folks can understand me without any problem. Ideally I would like to proceed to intermediate and advanced levels but I'm not sure how long that process would take or what kind of effort is involved. However, I would like to proceed forward with that long term goal in mind if at all possible. As for time commitment, I would like to proceed at a pace where I can remember and apply what has been learned. The qualities I'm looking for in my teacher and lessons are (a) flexibility - in terms of what is covered. (b) native speaker of Hindi (c) offering beginner, intermediate and advanced classes. Ideally I would like to have a demo session ahead of actual lecture so that you can assess my level and I can get a feel of your lecture as well as clarify any expectations ahead of time.
