Iryna's lessons include cultural topics and are very enjoyable and rewarding. My daughter invited me to join her for our first Russian language course at the local college in Feb 2007. That’s when I first met Iryna, the teacher for our first Russian language class. We liked her very much from the beginning. It was her demeanor, her way with the students, her easiness in her teaching, her mastery of the Russian language, and her sprinkling of cultural topics throughout the class that impressed us so much! Iryna is Russian by birth and has lived in Russia and in Kiev in the Ukraine for most of her life. So she’s fluent in Russian as well as Ukrainian. I continued my Russian lessons with Iryna after the college class ended. She is very flexible with her lesson schedule and always tries to accommodate the needs of her students. She is very, very good at that! Her lessons are geared to the ability of the student and are sprinkled with cultural topics throughout. You might read and analyze a poem by a great Russian poet. She might review a Russian newspaper article of current interest with you. You might listen to a fine Russian singer singing in Russian. Listening to the lively and lovely Russian folk music is always a favorite for me. These cultural topics all add to the enjoyment of the lessons. She always gives you homework assignments. That’s fine with me. You can’t get away from that! And tea and cookies always add to the pleasure of your Russian lessons. Iryna is a fine teacher of the Russian and Ukrainian languages.
