I am looking for a modern Greek tutor (a native Greek speaker) in the Vancouver area to give me lessons several hours a week. I am nearing completion of a Teach-Yoursel f-Greek book, but I am finding it very frustrating studying alone, and I desperately want a teacher, particularly to help with conversation.
I have a fairly thorough grounding in ancient Greek, and I have always wanted to learn the modern language. I am planning a trip to Greece next year, and this seemed as good a time as any to start working on the language.

I am a beginner, trying to learn Greek. I would like to learn Greek because my fiance is Greek and it is very important for myself to be able to communicate with certain members of his family-also, we travel to greece quite often and would like to be able to socialize with others. I am able to have 1 or 2 lessons a week. I would like a teacher who speaks perfect english, has a greek background and is very patient and teaches me the most imperative parts of the language.
