I do not speak Hungarian but my father does and I have always wanted to learn the language due to a desire to understand and connect with my Hungarian background. Unfortunately , my father never saw any benefit in me speaking Hungarian so he never taught me the language. He would entertain my curiousity with phrases but nothing as far as serious language lessons.
I have also always had a fascination with the 1956 revolution since that was what led to my father coming to the states.
I have been researching 1956 and drilling my father on his childhood and the actual escape to the states. I would love to be able to better communicate with my family overseas and learn from them what life was like for them and for my grandparents.
I would be willing to dedicate 20 hours a week to the language (lessons and personal study combined). I am looking for a teacher in the Chicago area who could sit down with me a couple days a week for 2 or 3 hours with emphasis on hearing/compr ehension and pronounciatio n.

I am beyond the beginner level and barely at an intermediate level of proficiency in Spanish and am personally motivated. I love Spanish cultures and the Spanish language and therefore am learning Spanish in order to use it in my work as a pastor (close to Catholicism). I particularly wish to improve my conversationa l skills. At this time, I could have 1 or 2 lessons per week, according to what seems most fruitful, and I aim to study several hours for each lesson.
I am looking for a motivating tutor, a native speaker, who focuses on lots of conversation and teaches only in Spanish.
An instructor who knows the terminology of my profession would be an added (optional) asset.

My daughter who is homeschooled is currently taking Mandarin Chinese via a software program called Rosetta Stone. She has been studying the language now for four months. Prior to this, she studied Latin for several years.
I believe Mandarin Chinese to be one of the most important languagues to learn in our lifetime.

Czech School in New York is looking for Czech teachers. We offer an after-school Czech language program to children 5-14 years of age. Successful candidates will speak Czech fluently, have experience teaching children, possess strong collaborative skills and commitment to cultural education.
