I am interested in learning Farsi primarily because I am very interested in the culture, politics and history of Iran. I have become very interested in the country in light of recent months' developments, and I would like to visit one day. As such, I would like to learn some Farsi in order to be able to get along there if I ever go. I do not currently know any Farsi. My fiance is Persian and it is important to both of us for our future children to be able to speak Farsi. I am a beginner. I can speak a little and understand a little more. I'm mostly interested in learning conversationa l Farsi. I would like to take lessons 2 to 3 times per week. I am looking for a teacher who is patient and excited to help me learn.

I would like to learn Farsi for my personal use. My proficiency level is beginner as I only know a few words. I was introduced to the culture by a friend and fell in love with the peoples and customs. Because of this I am interested in learning more and being able to communicate better with the Persian community.
This would be more of a hobby so I would learn it part time on the side from my normal daily responsibilit ies.
The qualities I hope for in my teacher are a true interest in teaching their student correct pronunciation , sentence structure and mannerisms as associated with this language.

I will be working for an organization that may be sending me to the Afghanistan/P akistan region. I will need to be able to hold at least a simple conversation. I have spent a great deal of time researching electronic means of learning, but realize there is no substitute for face to face learning and a real person to talk to and learn from.
