I have been studying French for years and try to frequent France or French departments in the Caribbean. My wife and mother in law speak French and I want to get better. I plan on doing a French immersion in a few years when I retire.

I have some minimal exposure to French, I have had 2 highschool semesters of French, Duolingo experience, I practiced the Defense Foreign Language Institute program, and I also had an opportunity to speak French with individuals in Rwanda. I am still not even close to fluency. I would love to travel once I've finished my paramedic schooling to places like French speaking Canada, France and just be able to use French conversationa lly.

I am learning French for career advancement and I never was introduced to a European language besides Spanish. My proficiency level is beginner to intermediate. I feel I need improvement in grammar, conversation, pronunciation , and writing. I would like to dedicate about an hour a day to language lessons. The qualities I am looking for in my teacher are patience, and effective communication .
