I have no one locally that can help me speak Polish. I primarily want to be able to talk to a teacher to learn, not by writing... at least not yet.
I am Polish by birth and grew up in a home where Polish was spoken but NOT to us children. I 'have an ear' for the language but do not know sentence structure. I know a lot of nouns and adjectives, not that many verbs. Basically, consider me a newbie.
I would be happy with one or two sessions per month. This is just an interest of mine, not needed for work or anything. Would like to be able to exchange simple greetings with people I come across that speak Polish. It may develop into something more involved and more frequent lessons depending on how it goes initially.
As far as qualities in a teacher, need someone willing to push me to speak only in Polish - at least for part of each session. I would like them to help me put sentences together. Prefer female teacher and someone who is 'chatty' and friendly, not rigid.

I am looking for a Polish teacher for my two girls, who are 7 & 10. We are moving to Edmonton in January and the school they are wanting to go to is a bilingual Polish/Englis h school. I would like for them to be prepared.
They are fast learners and are very much looking forward to learning
I would like the lessons to be 1-2 times a week for about an hour each lesson.
We would like a teacher who is patient and kind, knows the language well, and can teach them the basics so they are not lost at their new school.
