My name id Tiffany Willard. I am interested in learning the spoken language of Urdu. I am an English Speaking American who married a Pakistani gentleman and I want to learn his language. His mom and dad speak very little English and I want to converse with them. We also want to teach our dughter Urdu. I have traveled many times to Pakistan and I will be going there in October again. Eventually, my husband and I will be spending a couple of months a year there in a medical clinic.
My proficiency level would be a beginner. I am mainly interested in conversation/ spoken grammer.
I would like to dedicate 2-3 hours week to the subject. I really need to find a teacher that will help build my confidence and get me over being so shy when I speak the language. What I do know I am afraid to say because I don't want to mess up and insult the other person.

-My proficiency level is beginner/inte rmediate. I am able to hold small, short conversations , however, my grammer is in need of correction.
-I am determined to learn Udru because it is my parents native language. I feel as though I owe my parents, as well as myself, the ability to know my culture through my language.

Learning Urdu is important to me because it is my family's native language. I am only fluent in English, so I so badly want to be able to conversate with my family more than I can now. Being raised in America, I am trying to become more engaged with my Pakistani culture and feel being fluent in Urdu essential. At the very least I want to dedicate 2 hrs per week; and I only want to learn conversationa l skills. I would say I'm at a beginner level, but over the years I have picked up a little. Someone who can participate in a voice chat/telephon e scenario is important because I feel proper pronunciation is key. I would like a teacher who is patient and dedicated. I have put off learning Urdu long enough, and I am sincerely eager and ready to learn asap.

I am a beginner in Urdu. In the past I've learned French and reached a conversant level for reading/writi ng/conversatio n in Mandarin. I wish to learn Urdu so that I may speak with my mother-in-law . I need help with the structure/gra mmer of the language as once I have this framework my husband will be able to help me build vocab.
In a teacher I am looking for organized/pro gressive lessons.
I don't mind learning from a Hindi teacher since grammer will be the same.
