I need to become more proficient in Mandarin Chinese because of my business.I have traveled to China several times, but need a basic understanding to communicate and understand the language better. My next trip to China is schedule for late February, so I would want to get started before then. I would like the tutoring to occur in my office in Greensburg during business hours. About 4 months ago, I had a profound spiritual experience. God showed me the way to follow my calling into a music ministry, and it was through sign language. I am to learn to sign, beginning with the basics, and continue on until I am proficient in both signing for conversation and signing for song. Not knowing just how to pursue this calling, I let it sit idle for a while, but I cannot put it on the back burner any longer. I have searched colleges and continuing education classes but have had little luck in finding the right person or people to teach me. I will find the path to my destination, perhaps through this site, perhaps with your teaching and guidance. This is not a passing phase for me. This is my calling and I will follow it through to the end.

My name is Tim, and I want to learn how to (in order) understand a normal Farsi conversation (listen, translate and speak), be able to read Persian Script, and eventually be able to write in Farsi. My reason to learn is for personal growth and I would be starting as a beginner with very little pre-existing knowledge of the language. The amount of time I would like to spend learning would be a couple times (depending on cost) a week with an actual tutor and more on my own. I want my lessons to teach me the basics i.e. alphabet, and proper pronunciation of words and letters, how to speak formally and with the native slang, and ect. I'm looking for an experience tutor that is well versed in the language and the cultural.
