Hello, I will be living in Nantucket, MA from 20 June to 20 August 2008 prior to moving to Bucharest as a US diplomat. I am currently overseas now, but will be returning to Nantucket for summer 2008 and would to receive one on one romanian language training on the island of Nantucket. I am very much a beginner with this language. I had one semester at a Community College, but the instructor spent more time talking about his travels than learning the language.
I am interested in learning this language for two reasons: 1. I am 100% German and would like to learn the language so that I may travel there.
2. Language proficiency is a requirement to complete my PhD. and I would like to work with German so that I can read some of the text in the original language.

I have been studing Romanian at home or ten months, using CDs and computer interactive lessons. (Pimsleur and Talk Now)
I need grammar/sente nce structure instruction. Next summer I plan to teach English (ESL) in Romania for at least six months (no job yet.)
Do you know someone who can spend an hour a week with me? Of course, I am willing to pay. I'll drive to San Jose if necessary.
