I am a native Texan who is married to a Brazilian national. I was married in 1993 in Santos, SP and lived there for almost a year and a half. Since then I have live in Dallas. Of course, I have lost a good deal of my ability to speak Portuguese, although I can still understand a fair amount and can speak at a beginning to intermediate level. The reason for my wanting to take lessons is because my family and I are planning to move back to Brazil and I need to get back to near fluency in speaking, reading and writing Portuguese.
