I grew up in South Texas and had many friends who spoke Spanish and they would teach me little phrases and vocabulary, but not enough to really stick. I took 3 years of Spanish in high school and since then have been trying to make myself fluent with workbooks and CD's, but not using what I am learning is not helping me. I am a teacher and would love to be able to communicate more effectively with the parents of my students.
