Olá! I am interested in learning Brazilian Portuguese and am very much a beginner student of the language. I know a few words and some phrases since my girlfriend lives in Brazil. As it is too expensive to call on a regular basis, I am not getting the experience of hearing spoken Portuguese and getting the opportunity to speak the language in return. I think this is vital in the language learning process. I intend to make a return visit to Brazil in July 2007, (I was there last year for a few weeks), and I would like to be able to understand and speak more Portuguese. I am looking for a teacher of Brazilian Portuguese who would be located relatively close to me with whom I could take lessons from and who might be flexible as my free time is limited. I am a beginning Russian language student. I have mastered the Russian alphabet and have been studying the Russian language informally for the past year.
I would like to learn the language to enhance my understanding of the Russian culture and broaden my opportunities for social and business contacts.
I have a deep appreciation for Russian history and their contribution to science and the arts. I have had the privildege to work with Russians several years ago and enjoyed the experience.

For a number of years, I have visited Kazakhstan every 12-18 months. I studied Russian and that has helped a lot-but there is an increasing need to know at least some Kazakh.
Thou gh many of our interactions can still be done in Russian, we now visit an orphanage where many of the children really only speak Kazakh.
So, I hope to find a tutor in Seattle (North if possible) who can take a definite beginner (age 69-male) and have fun giving him the basics of grammar and conversation.
Meeting once a week would be the goal, and I WILL DO homework for preparation for each session.
