Description |
Hello,
I have taken a year of Arabic at the university level as an undergraduate student. I would consider myself a beginner/inte rmediate student. I know the alphabet, verb conjugation, possesive nouns, some grammar rules for formal Arabic, and limited experience with Classical Arabic. I would like to develop my grammar skills, expand my vocabulary and be able to use the Arabic dictionary. I am a graduate student and would like to learn Arabic for both professional and personal reasons. I would be able to donate an hour or two a week to in-person lessons.

Hello :)
I am looking to meet someone who can teach me arabic. My husband is Egyptian and presently working in Iraq. I just visited Cairo, Egypt for 2 weeks and I would like to converse with my husband's family. My husband used to teach me words but now he is unable. I have learned other langauges in the past such as Spanish and Dutch. I like to learn, but definitely I would be a beginner. I would be willing to dedicate 2 - 3 hours a week or bi-weekly or monthly depending on your schedule. My only restraint is that I work as a Director for a hospital in Houston, so classes would be wither at night or on the weekends.
Another concern that I have in learning from my husband is that he tells me spelling is unimportant in arabic. I get no real answers when I try to spell a word correctly. My husband just says it can be spelled many ways...
Ba sically, I would be willing to meet the instructor away from my home because I live north on 290 near Huffmeister. I did try to get a tutor through El Farouk Mosque, but their teachers are more concerned with reading and understanding the Quran, rather than conversation. Also, their classes are in the middle of the day, which makes it impossible for me to go.
I really hope you are available.

I am interested in learning Mandarin Chinese. I am planning on going over to Taiwan to teach English, the schools say that you don't need any background in speaking Chinese, but I would like to have a foundation of basic communication . I am interested in speaking more than writing but I would like to lean how to write and read as well. I am planning on going to class for my teaching English as a second language licenser in early summer (June through Mid-July 2006). Until then I would like to focus heavily on studying Mandarin. I want to immerse my self in the language before I head out to Taiwan. If you think that you have the skills to be able to train an open minded willing student that will be dedicated to the study please contact me. If you are just looking for some extra cash please don’t bother, I want a dedicated teacher.

Description |
I am a beginner, I have purchased software to help myself learn Arabic. All I need now is a tutor that can guide and instruct me to an understanding of the langauge and a high level of Proficiency.
The reason I would like to learn Arabic is I am studying the Islamic faith and considering conversion. The areas I would like to concentrate on are grammar and conversation. I can dedicate 2-3 hours a day to my studies. I need structure in my lessons so I would like to learn numbers first then the alphabet then build up my vocabulary and move on to structuring sentences and then move in to conversation and grammar.
