I want to learn Serbian because my wife and her family are Serbian. This would add to the quality of conversation and make things easier with relatives that do not speak English.
I 'm a beginner but have become familiar with certain words, as I've been around the family for a few years.
I can dedicate an hour a week to start with

My mother is a native Serbo-Croat speaker but my father was English and she never taught me to speak her language. All my family live in either Croatia or Serbia and I am desperate to learn how to communicate with them.
I am a beginner as I have tried using a book and audio CD pack from the library but did not get on with that method of learning.
I would like to start with weekly lessons. My main aim is aural communication . However, I also want to progress to being a competent writer or Serbian/Croat ian.
I have a car and am willing to travel for lessons.

I am learning Serbian for two reasons; 1) I love the sound of the language. It's beautiful. 2) I want to visit Serbia often and so being proficient in the language is helpful! I am a beginner and only know a handful of words and phrases. I need help in all areas really. The amount of time I dedicate to the lessons completely depends on the hourly rate offered. The qualities I am looking for in my lessons/ teacher is patience and reliability. Someone who can commit to helping me learn this language well and work with my learning pace.
