I know absolutely nothing about the language of chichewa as of yet. I'm learning it because I am going to Malawi to help in a medical clinic and would love to know atleast some of the language before I go. I'll want to work mostly on conversationa l stuff. I would like to dedicate the amount of time necessary to learn the language somewhat proficiently in the amount of time I have (which is uncertain at this point). I don't have expectations of my teacher or lessons other than he/she will know what they are doing and can help me in the most efficient way possible.

My husband was born in Zambia and left when he was around nine years old. We have family there. We are now going to have our own child and would like to teach him the Nyanja language. We are both beginners, however, my husband is barely familiar with understanding the language but has a problem with speaking the language. I am a total beginner. We would like to be able to teach our child as well as communticate in Nyanja when we make trips back to Zambia.
We expect the instructor to be very familiar with the Nyanja spoken in Lusaka. It would be nice if we could meet in person for the lessons, however, we are open to internet, etc.
