I have to start out by saying; I'm a beginner at the Japanese language. This is odd because I have always wanted to learn the language. I'm finally looking at starting now because of two reasons:
1) I believe it will help in my work. I'm starting to do more international sales and well...the more you know the better you are.
2) More over, and a lot closer to my heart. My wife, two friends, and I are going to Japan in two years!!! This has been my life dream since before I can remember. I would love to be able to hold conversations with people I meet, and help my wife and friends when in Tokyo.
This is something that I'm going to be completely dedicated to. It is up to my teacher as to the amount of time I should dedicate myself to.

I want to learn Japanese because I think it's a very intersting language. I like a lot about the culture and would love to visit Japan in the future. Even though I have briefly studied Japanese from books, friends and Anime i would liek to start 'fresh' from every aspect.

Absolute Beginner. Know some words, but not enough to form more than a few sentences.
I am learning for mostly personal reasons, I may be going to Japan in a few months. I want to learn mostly conversationa l Japanese. I would also like to be able to read enough to make out street signs and perhaps food labels, but that is secondary.
I would like to learn as much as possible in as little time as possible.
I expect my teachers to be experienced. I prefer they are native speakers, have knowledge of cultural differences, and high levels of English comprehension .

I know the katakana and hiragana and some kanji, and have been studying Japanese for about a year now.
