proficiency : i think a little more compared to a beginner as i know-read, write and speak a little as i'm a chinese myself. (eg. heng, shu, pie..; numbers-hao ma; body parts-shen ti; family-jia ren; animals-tong u; greetings; etc)
why learn? : because i'm ashamed to be called a chinese when i cant read, write or speak chinese well. And also because China BOOMING-it's very advantages language for my future career.
impr ovement : grammar, conversation, writting and all the necessary stuffs (if possible calligraphy as well)
time : i just finished my a-level examinations and i'm entering the 2008 Mac, Law degree intake. So, I basically have all the time in the world. And i don't mind long hours (apprx-5hrs) classes.
whe n? : end of July(flying down to Shanghai). Possibly start class in August untill January.
tea cher : a person who loves teaching and have patience in tranning. Teachers who have their own creative and innovative ways of teaching, coaching and tranning.
ce ntre : i'm actually not sure of either attending a language center or a university to learn mandarin. But i definately don't want to having a private tuition. So please advice me.
(extra) : i'm looking forward to attend a class of about 4-6 students as studying with a group of people whom you can practise with will make the learning and correction process faster.
PS: Teachers, you don't definately have to suit the requirements above. As long as you have faith in teaching, i think that'll do.

I would like to learn Korean because I think it is interesting. My native language is Thai but I also can speak English and Chinese very well. Therefore, I don't think I will have any prooblem talking to the teacher. I am a beginner for Korean and I really want to be able to communicate in a short period of time of study.

I take French for personal improvement.
The areas I feel I need improvement is to build a solid conversationa l skill. I wish to dedicate to this language at least a year. I expect my French teacher is a qualified French teacher who is fluent in English as well.

am still a beginner, but learned Reflet 1 already, I can speak English and German very well, but it has been always a dream to be able to speak French since I was a kid. Coversation would be very useful, grammar is also important. Language learning is a long term project, but I would like to invest one year at first. A qualified teacher for me would be the person knows what I need to learn in French.
