I am a beginner/inte rmediate italian learner. I understand what I read much better than what I hear. I need to learn to hear and speak properly as well as learn proper grammar. I would like to dedicate 3-4 hours a week to face to face lessons, and will work outside of these on my own.
For the teacher, I am looking for someone who can help the vocabulary and sounds stick in my mind and help me with pronunciation . Most of all, someone who is patient and has a sense of humor! I don't mind laughing at myself!

I'm a writer and cook working on a project that brings me to Italy. I will be spending some time near La Spezia and Carrara and then traveling South to Puglia. I am a student of Slavic Languages and studied Russian and Serbian at University. I have basic skills in French as well. I do not speak Spanish or Catalan nor have I studied either. I do speak Italian as I have lived in Italy for over 20 years. I would prefer a teacher who speaks Italian to show me the differences and similarities between Italian and Catalan.
I am only interested in conversation for the week of October 16 when I will be in Barcelona. I want to be able to communicate at a basic level in shops, restaurants, taxis etc. For now I speak Italian which doesn't work so well in Spain. I would like a teacher who is flexible and can give me private lessons every morning for an hour or two in Barcelona over a morning coffee.
I could spend some time now learning a few basics on the internet via skype for example.
