I'd classify myself as a beginner. I had hindi lessons a couple of years ago, but hav'nt even retained the Devenagri script.
I plan to go to India next year and would like to learn Hindi to make that trip more enjoyable.
I learn best in a structured learning environment - I like to know the rules of what I am learning. I need a lot of repetition; information doesn't stay in my brain like it used to.
Realistic ally I could manage one lesson a week and it would have to be on a weekend.

I am currently a history undergrad who wishes to eventually study Indian History in grad school. Unfortunately , my university does not offer Hindi classes. I have already purchased a first level text, but I would like to meet with a tutor at least once a week this summer (2006)to help guide my progress. I am willing to pay $20/hr. Must be fluent.

Dear Sir or Madame,
My name is Viraj Kamdar. I was born in Rajkot, State of Gujrat, but have been living in New York for the past 23 years. For the course of one month this summer (July) I would like to travel to Banglore and experience India with my family and friends. During this time I would also like to learn Hindi. I can speak and understand ( a bit) of Gujrati but nothing else. I would be willing to devote 6 hours a day, five days a week, for four weeks to the study of Hindi. I am looking for a teacher or school (preferable) with the time and resources to accomodate me.
