Hello All!
my name is Joi and I am an undergrad. college student in Houston, TX. I am very determined to japanese, but the University I attend does not offer it there as a major. Therefore, I am only able to study enough courses to fulfill my foreign language prerequisites . Spring 2008 is my last semester before my pre-req is complete. thus, i have no choice but to cease any further studying in Japanese =(
I would really love to continue learning japanese for several reasons:
1 . I believe it would be a huge aid to my major, which is Corporate Communication s.
2. I am very interested and fascinated by the culture and music.
3. I am actually a 1/4 Japanese. My father is 1/2 Japanese, but he and my mother are divorced. So i was not able to learn any Japanese while I was young.
I have been to japan several times, and i have many family and friends living there. They try helping me as well, but since many of them are interested in learning English, I am usually the one who becomes the teacher (>_<) lol I have tried to searching for private tutors here in houston, but the number of Japanese residents living here is very few... Therefore they are extremely hard to find. So I've decided to try the next best thing. 'Language-Sch ool-Teachers.c om'

Hmm lets see grammar and conversation i feel i need improvement on I am ok with pronunciation and I am learning Japanese because I wont to move to japan and go to college there and yes I beginner I would like to dedicate at least an hour a day doing lessons I am hoping that the lessons would be broken down and simple to comprehend and i hope i have a nice teacher

I have passion in learning Japanese because I like Japanese culture and fashion.I am serious in learning Japanese since I planned on going to Japan.I tried to teach myself for several times but I always failed in pronouncing and the grammars because the way that book is written is so confusing. The turoring services that we are inquiring about is for my 13 y.o. god-daughter. She is a very serious student who wants to learn Japanese, study and live in Tokyo after graduation. She knows some of the basics, but wants to learn to speak it proficiently.
The amount of time that she will give to her studies will be discussed upon meeting or speaking with the instructor. The qualities required from the instructor is that he/she is respectful, patient and serious about teaching a very bright 13 y.o.
