Hi,
I wish to improve my Cantonese conversation and maybe learn Mandarin. I would like to learn for social use. I can speak a little Cantonese, but need to improve on tones.
I am looking for a fun but effective way of learning the language with some worksheets or homeworketc.

I just arrived in Hong Kong two weeks ago and I want to continue learning Chinese, both Cantonese and Mandarin. I have had classes in each language, more in one than the other. I want to learn the traditional characters so that I can read the newspapers and magazines here as well as being able to understand and speak.
I think I am probably an advanced beginner (with some gaps) in Cantonese. And more of a beginner in Mandarin. I am not sure if it would be possible to do both languages together but I would be interested in discussing it.
Curren tly I have a schedule that gives me some time free during the middle of the day most days and I'd really like to use some of it for taking Chinese classes. Most weekdays I am in Hung Hom.
Patie nce and a good sense of humor is definitely a plus.

I just moved to HK from USA in July 2004. I am a complete beginner. I want to learn Cantonese because I will be living in Hong Kong at least until 2007. My ideal would be one small group class, meeting once per week, in the morning or early afternoon, in Central. (Or, if in early AM, in Discovery Bay.)
