Hi, My name is Laura Anderson, and I'm interested in learning Finnish. I want to be tutored in this particular language, because I'm half Finnish and my Finnish aunts are planning on taking me to Finland for my graduation. I'm sixteen years old, and I am willing to drive to any location around Sacramento, (Roseville, Rocklin, etc). Currently I am in my second year of French, but languages have always interested me in general, and I feel I have a knack for picking them up! I have never studied Finnish before, so I am a beginner. I am interested in learning conversationa l Finnish and Grammar. I want to dedicate atleast one hour a week to lessons, but I can dedicate more if needed or thought best. I would love a teacher who loves the language and enjoys teaching! Thank you so much!

I would be a beginner and I want to learn Finnish because I'm going to live in Finland, and the whole first generation of my family speaks it.
I go to school but I would basically dedicate all my free time to learning this language if I could. I don't want to know just enough to get by, I want to know everything. I want to be able to speak Finnish as fluently as is possible for someone who wasn't born there.
I suppose I'm just looking for a teacher who reads everything I just wrote and thinks they could do the best job. I think I'd prefer someone who is from Finland, but it's not absolutely necessary.

I'm currently trying to learn the Finnish language. I am a beginner. I will be coming to Finland in June of 2008 for several months to visit family. I am a beginning level student for learning the Finnish language. My fiance is a Finnish native and we will traveling to Finland in December. I will be meeting his family for the first time and most of his family members do not speak english very well. I have tried to learn finnish by studying some books that I purchased, but the language is a bit too hard for me to try to learn on my own. I will need help on the grammar, conversation, and pronunciation of the Finnish language. My accent is pretty bad and I want to make sure that I am saying the words properly enough for people to understand. I would like to have lessons once or twice a week for one hour per lesson. Although I will be traveling to Finland during the Christmas season, I would like to continue the lessons upon my return, so that I could improve my skills to a proficient level.
I would prefer that my teacher to be a native speaker of the language, but I welcome anyone interested in teaching me.
