I am a beginner (have never studied Bahasa Indonesian and know 2 words, maybe...). My husband is half Indonesian and we travel to Indonesia regularely. I would like be able to converse in Indonesian while visiting family and travel throughout Indonesia knowing the language; as a result, I'd like to focus on conversation in my lessons. I would like to dedicate 2 hours a week to my language classes. I'd like my teacher to be based in NYC and be preferably a woman; I'd like my teacher to have expereinec in teaching Bahasa as a foreign language and make the lessons interesting through topics that I cna use in every day life in Indonesia.

Announcement: Our University's Special Language Department now looking for a Bahasa Indonesia Instructor. The classes would be 3 hours per week at the Stanford University Campus.
-I am intermediate (have taken two semesters of Indonesian plus spent6 months in East Timor)
-I am learning the foreign language for career advancement (US diplomatic core) and for undergraduate study language requirement (Stanford no longer offers Indonesian language)
-I need particular improvement in grammar and writing skills, reading and vocabulary
- I want to dedicate 3 hours per week to language lessons or longer
-I would like lessons to be in person, I need an instructor unafraid to give homework.
