1) I am a beginner in both Latin and Aramaic.
2) I wish to become proficient in reading and writing in both of these as I am working on my M.A. in Art History and these languages directly relate to my area(s) of emphasis. (Classical Studies in Art History.) It would be wonderful to have conversaional skills, if this is available in such above languages. My immediate needs are for grammar, etc., for translation necessities.
3) I will dedicate 5+ hours per day.
4) I am looking for a teacher with a good academic background. A knowledge of Aramaic and Latin Texts as relates to History, Culture, and Religious Studies would be very helpful.

I am interested in learning Ancient Aramaic because that is the language that Jesus spoke. I would not even consider myself a beginner, because I have absolutely no further understanding of the language, except for the fact that it is the language that Jesus taught in (or at least one of them). I need improvement in all aspects of learning Aramaic, since I will be starting with no knowledge of it. The only two qualities that I would look for in a teacher would be- 1)..a school/instru ctor that also finds it important that it was the language of Jesus, and 2)..it is very important to me that I find out the correct translation of the word 'choose' into Aramaic- that will determine everything for me.

I am a total novice in Aramaic. My fiancee is from Ethiopia and I would like to learn this language so she can't talk about me behind my back. Just joking. I would like to be able to talk to her family and I think the language is beautiful and ancient. I am devoted 100 percent to learning this. I am easy to work with. I need a teacher who provides more than just run of the mill teaching skills.
