My son is in 8th grade & is in the Magnet Program for High Achievers in DeKalb County. He earns A's and B's in all subjects except German. His grade at the end of 7th grade was 'C'. This is his 5th year studying German in school. I can't say anymore specifically what his level is. He would be able to tell you more than I. He does well with 'one on one' contact with a person. I feel certain he will be much more successful in school if he has a private or semi-private tutor 1 or 2 days per week.

I have studied German for about 1 year off and on and would like to have weekly lessons that last 1 hour each.
I am a musician, so German is very useful. I also really love that particular language.
Since I am a relative beginner, all areas need work.
I would like to be more serious about German, so one lesson a week with the appropriate amount of homework would be the kind of commitment I would like to make.
I would like to have a native speaking teacher who will focus on correct pronunciation .

I have just begun learning german on my own. I have been working on it for 6 months. I would like to have a teacher whose native language is german, so I can learn more and learn the proper pronunciation of words and sounds. I am learning german for fun. I plan on taking a trip to germany sometime soon, but I just feel that learning another language is a fun thing to do in free time. I can dedicate one night a week to lessons in person, the rest I can do in my free time.
