I am a beginner at Japanese. I am currently more interested in learning conversationa l skills, instead of reading/writi ng.
I am willing to dedicate 1-2 hours a night toward lessons. And longer on weekends.
I have had several language tutors (not for Japanese), and the biggest frustration is lack of organization. The most important quality in a teacher that I am looking for is someone who has a method, and isn't just making the lesson up the night before.

Absolute beginner, and I want to learn Mandarin, Cantonese, and Japanese to advance my future career options. I'm looking to dedicate about 2-6 hours a week in private lessons. Although I studied Japanese in University of Montreal for three years between 1992 and 1995, I consider myself as a beginner who might become intermediate quickly. My job is bringing me to Japan in February and May 2008. I am interested in improving my conversation skills to be able to negotiate with my Japanese counterparts and be comfortable in having a day-to-day conversation. I would like a 3-hour/week private lesson with a teacher who has formal training in teaching Japanese.
