Description |
I lived in Japan for 2.5 years and took Japanese lessons twice a week during that time. I passed the 'San-Ko' exams in 2004. However I have not had much pratice since I moved to Australia in late 2004. I would like to begin learning again and not only maintain my conversationa l and basic reading/writi ng skills, but also improve on them.

Description |
I can currently read and write hiragana, katakana and simple kanji but my conversation is not very well developed. Having said that I wish to learn all aspects of japanese, reading, writing, speaking, listening and grammar.
I am looking to study about 3 times a week.
I am learning japanese as I plan on living in japan for many many years(My wife is japanese). I have currently been in japan for just over a year.
I would like a teacher who is serious about their teaching and teaches in an organized fashion. If the teacher can make the lesson fun, that is a bonus.

I am currently a senior in high school, who in August, will be entering her third year of studying the Japanese language. :) I can read and write hiragana and katakana, but I am only familiar with only a few basic kanji characters. I would really love to practice all areas of the language - reading, writing, speaking, grammar, vocabulary, technicalitie s, ect.
I absolutely love Japan and it's culture and I want to learn as much as I can, and someday, maybe reach a level of fluency in the language. :) I recently got back from a trip to Japan and LOVED it, so I'm really hoping to find a Japanese teacher that can work with me outside of school in an attempt to improve and keep my language usage frequent!
I am willing to travel as far as an hour or two out of town for lessons. I would prefer a teacher whose first language is Japanese, but one who's first language isn't Japanese is fine too. :)
As far as the length of a lesson, I'm hoping for possibly a 2-3 hour lesson. I'll settle for one hour, but I'd really prefer longer.

My name is Ian Olson, and am looking for a Japanese teacher/tutor within the portland area. I'm just a beginner, and haven't taken any official classes (due to the fact that my school doesn't teach Japanese), that which I've learned has been through friends and on my own. I want to learn Japanese before I move to Tokyo in two years, Japanese will be necessarry not only for a carreer there, but for every day life. I need particular improvement in my vocabulary and my grammar. My hours of availibility are flexible, and would like either daily, or every-other day lessons for a few hours. It would be nice if the teacher had flexible hours of availibility as well. Origato gozaimasu!

Description |
I am working to obtain a minor in Japanese language at DePaul University. I am about to enter my fourth year of Japanese and should be at an advanced level but have found it more difficult as I move forward. I took Japanese for fun, but decided to continue with it. I need improvement on grammar, conversation, and also am looking for better techniques in studying kanji and translating text. I take class for 3 hours a week, and would probably need an additional 1-2 hours of tutoring. Qualities I am looking for in a Japanese tutor is someone who can really help me to understand rules of grammar, conversation, etc. and give me better tips on studying.
