I'm learning Japanese for as a personal interest and because I am going to Japan next year for a Working Holiday. I studied Japanese at Mount Royal College and U of C for a number of years. However, It has been a number of years since then and I have forgotten much of the vocabulary though I have a good understanding of basic to intermediate grammar.
I would like to improve my listening comprehension as well as my conversationa l skills.
I would like to spend 1-2 hours either every week to 2 weeks until I leave (March 2010).
I would appreciate a teacher that has experience as a teacher and who can help me create a lesson plan to suite my needs.

I am very interested in eastern culture and languages. I would really like to persue longterm stay there, particularly Japan. I would say I am past very beginner, maybe early intermediate. I want to learn Japanese because I am in a scout exchange group with a scout group from Nagoya Japan. This year we hosted the Japanese scouts and guides and I realized how hard the language barrier was at times and realized before I go to Japan next summer I would like to be able to communicate with them. I am a beginner but I know some random words I have picked up from the Japanese scouts. I would like to dedicate a couple days a week and study at home as well. I would like the teacher's native language to be Japanese and be nice and patient.
