I am a beginner and I want to learn Hungarian because my father is Hungarian and therefore this is my heritage. I can only spend two or three hours a week on this. I need a teacher who does not over-correct and allows the student to gain confidence by putting sentences together even if they are not fully correct at first, but to also gently encourage correctness. This can be done by learning whole sentences by heart which are grammatically correct. My father has taght me this way.

I am interested in taking beginners' lessons in Hungarian, but in such a way that it would allow me to progress to a higher level of proficiency. I am planning on moving to Hungary to study in the next year or so, and I would like to learn some of the language prior to my departure. The areas I would like to focus on encompass all areas of language study, such as speaking, writing, reading and grammer, so I would like to find a teacher who would be willing to contribute both the time and effort to tutoring me. I am a diligent and commited student, and am planning to devote up to 2-3 hours a week to my studies. The qualities I am looking for in a teacher are, most importantly, patience, enthusiasm and a person who has a thorough approach to language tuition.

i am open to suggestions as far as time i would need to dedicate to lessons etc..
I am interested in either a small class situation or private lessons. A small class would be more realistic as far as prices are concerned since i am a student.
