Hello I graduated from the University of Vermont last May. I am currently working on my masters degree in counterintell igence and counterterror ism. I wish to work for the government and am really interested in learning Arabic to in the hopes of making me more desirable for fire. I have no prior experience with Arabic but am a hard worker an very motivated to learn. I am at an intermediate level of speaking Spanish if that has any significance at all. I am an absolute newbie that would be starting from the very beginning. As a little girl I was interestingly drawn to the Middle Eastern Culture and over the years I have studied every aspect of it....from religion, common beliefs, history and folklore, music and food,etc. While I've tried to dabble in learning the language myself, it's very hard to do so. Too hard for me to make any sense of what I am doing. I have an intense passion to learn to both read and write and speak the language and while I am unsure as to the proper course of study and time involved I would be willing to make my language learning a priority.

I want to learn Arabic because my husband is from Egypt and we may travel there at some point in time. I am a beginner. I need improvement in everything - grammar, conversation. I can give 1-2 hours a week to meeting with the instructor, and I have about 1-2 hours a day for homework. I am looking for someone that is somewhat structured.
