I am studying Chinese. I want to be a translator as well as study martial arts in China. I've had Chinese lessons before in highschool and I have some Chinese friends but I want to gain more profenciency in it. I feel my biggest area of improvement I need to work on is my writting. I'd like to dedicate at least one day a week to learning Chinese. I'd like my teacher to be open minded and learn from me as much as I learn from them.

Hi Clay, I hope that you are doing well this evening. I am a full time student college and I am currently taking a total of 6 courses over the summer. I love to learn and I have a passion for education. I am struggling in Spanish at this time, however, I have a desire and passion to learn both Spanish and French. I would like to be fluent in them both. I am currently taking Spanish now, and I am struggling in the course. I have homework to do online and the assignments are extremely difficult for me and my test grades are lower than they have been in years. I am studying mandarin to secure a job as a foreign service officer with the united states state department. I took 2 mandarin lessons through the Charlotte Language Academy this year and have an elementary understanding of the language. I need practice in conversation and learning characters. I am interested in a teacher that can work with my whole family - four of us ranging from ages 9 to 40. We need someone who is patient. None of us have studied Mandarin before but my husband has travelled to China and Asia and is probably more familiar with customs and sounds. I think most of us would like to learn conversationa l language with customs education and some writing.
D epending on cost, I would like to have 1- 2 hour lessons a week beginning in August, 2010. We are in the South Charlotte, NC area.
