I am a beginner. I will be posted to Laos for work in October 2007 and would like to pick up some basic Lao before I leave. The proficiency level is essentially to allow me to communicate with the locals on basic transactions, eg. marketing, shopping, directions, etc. Not needed for complicated work matters. Essentially conversationa l.
I am willing to spend a few hours a week. Preferably these lessons can be done one to one. The teacher must be able to converse in English.

Lao is my native language but I cannot speak fluently, only understand fluently. I want to learn how to write, read and speak laos fluently so I can speak to my family in our native language instead of speaking back in english. I want lessons once a week once an hour.

Beginner student. I have been studying some thru the Center for Southeast Asian Sudies program at N. Illinois University..b ut could use a little more 'direction'. (IE. Someone to correct me, organize lessons, be availbe for questions)
Interested in everyday spoken Lao and medical Lao. Ideally, I'd prefer in-person tutoring but working one-on-one online would be acceptable depending on teacher.
I am able to dedicate up to 10 hours per WEEK to learn. (Of course, this depends on pricing)
I 'd prefer a native Lao speaking teacher.
