In 1991 I completed an MA, Honours in Mandarin Chinese; after that I worked in China for around 18 months. I would like to improve my Chinese - spoken, reading and listening comprehension . I would like to read and discuss newspaper stories with my teacher on a one to one basis. I would prefer to have a native speaker teach me.

My english level is intermediate. I have to improve my conversation english. Because, I thought it was ok, but when I arrived to Glasgow a week ago, I felt, like all my years studing english were time lost! I also may check my grammar. I can dedicate two hours every day, because I'm here to finish my final project in Maritime Engineering, and I should dedicate to it all the time that I can!.

Having spent a gap year in Hong Kong I decided that I wanted to continue my interest in China by learning Mandarin at university. I am planning to spend a years study at the Shanghai Teacher's University next year. We are 3 martial arts practitioners and teachers who are very eager to find some person who is very fluent in Japanese to teach us much more, to become proficient and accomplished in conversationa l Japanese language.
We have varying levels of ability, but the majority of our language ability is combat oriantated.
We are having difficulty finding a good tutor and do not have much money, but for any deficit, we can exchange our services for that of our teacher.
