My wife and I are looking for a tutor to help us with our French.
We are at different levels, and would probably prefer to have our lessons separately. I did some conversationa l French courses at l'université de Moncton in the mid-1980s and worked with a private tutor for some years in the 1990s. I have a working knowledge of French. Laura is less advanced, but she has taken courses locally from a couple of different schools.
W e are interested in learning French both for career reasons, i.e. to improve our ability to work in French, and also for general interest, i.e. to be able to enjoy French language literature and films.
Our idea was to find a tutor with whom we could have individual sessions, perhaps 1 hour each, once a week, in person. We would also expect to spend perhaps another hour/week on homework. I had an arrangement like this for a number of years with another tutor, and it worked very well.
Qualities we would like in a teacher: an educated person with a good understanding of technical aspects of language, such as grammar, and some years of experience as a language teacher. Also a reasonable literate and well-informed person.

I am learning French in order to perserve the native langauge of my family. My current level is enough to get by just fine in a francophone country/provi nce given a few weeks to adjust.
I am interested in learning Spanish due to the number of latino friends I have. Due to all the spanish music I listen to my pronounciatio n is pretty good. Any grammar I know is that which can be transmitted from French.
I have no previous knowledge of Hindi. I want to learn it at the instance of my friends (and so when they speak Hindi in front of me I can know what they are saying and not tell them ;))
I am a full time student at the moment so I cannot dedicate a lot of time right now however I graduate in a year so upon graduation I intend to dedicate a great deal of time and effort into language.

I am looking for a French Teacher/Tutor for my 13th year old daughter. She has some basic knowledge of French, beginer level.
Preferable lesson time is on Monday evenings around 6 pm or Friday afternoons after 2 pm. The lessons should take 1-1.5 hours.
I would like that a beginer 'book' program would be used. I would like this program to include and mostly to be focused on 1) pronunciation , 2) grammer and 3) vocabulary with approx. 1-2 hours of homework per week.
I would like to attend two first classes.
The tutor does not have to be a proffesional as long she/he knows French good enough to teach it.

My name is John Holloway. I am a first year student currently studying at the University of Alberta. I wish to learn two languages fluently by the time I graduate (yes, I know it is a little ambitious). I wish to learn both French and Arabic.
I am a beginner in both languages, never learning anything of either language. I would like to learn to speak, as well as read and write, at a conversationa l level in both.
I would like to learn French because I have heard it is a beautiful language to speak. It is also a popular language in the world and would allow me not only to communicate with people from Quebec, but people from around the world.
Arabi c I wish to learn because it is different from the usual Germanic or Romance languages usually spoken. I have an interest in the Middle East and would at some time like to travel there. Arabic has always strongly interested me as a choice for a second language.
I would be willing to dedicate 2 hours a week with my teacher, as well as studying assignments on my own.
I would like a teacher that has a flexible schedule, is relaxed and friendly with a casual teaching style.

Hello:
I have 2 children: Amelia (12 - in grade 7) and Laphong (9 - in grade 5).
Both kids are in French emersion. The children are doing fine but I would like them to feel comfortable when speaking french as they are speaking English. I also want them to get help for their school work when needed.
