I am basically just wanting to learn a few languages, first choices would be Spanish, French, and Arabic. I am a beginner, knowing very little or none of either language. I want to learn foriegn language because I like to be able to understand people from other countries and also because I run into foriegn speaking customers in my line of work. It would be nice to be able to communicate with them. I would be able to dedicate a few to several hours a week to learning a language. At this time, I don't know what I am looking for exactly in an teacher, but I tend to learn best in a 'hands on' environment. Tend to need a bit of structure when learning. WILLING TO TRAVEL...Look ing at either Minneapolis or Chicago, but prefer Rochester, MN.

I've had two semesters of French at Georgetown University in Washington DC for the language proficiency requirement in the Walsh School of Foreign Service. I chose French because of my interest in West Africa. I can dedicate a couple of hours four or five days a week, and my schedule is very flexible over the summer. In a teacher, I need someone who does dialogue along with grammar lessons, so I can have practice speaking as well as learning language structure.

I have studied French for a total of 1 year (one semester of which I learned while I was living and studying in Paris). Spanish was my minor in college and for these reasons I am not a true beginner of the French language and I have another basis of French acquisition through knowledge of another Latin-based language.
I will be moving to Geneva in the Fall and would like to learn as much French as possible and as soon as possible. My summer will be devoted to preparing for my move to Switzerland; as a result, I can devote a lot of time to my lessons and learning French.
I am looking for a French teacher who can challenge me, find my deficiencies and help me with them. Build my knowledge base and help me to improve my pronunciation and communication al skills.
