I have no history of Korean or Tagalog lessons, only Japanese. These lessons were less than a month and were taught in a huge classroom.
M y reason for learning these languages especially Japanese is to gain a greater understanding of the language and culture as well as to use it when I teach English abroad.
The areas where I need improvement would have to be writting and listening. If possible I would dedicated two days per week to lessons from an hour and a half to two hours.
The qualities that I look for in a teacher are communication , creativity, and the sense of not reading everything off of the manual... throw in some history tid bits... make things interesting! Thorough understanding behind characters and other things overlooked by many.
