i have learnt any of the greek language. i want to learn as fast possible so that i may comunicate with my girlfriends family. we are planning a trip for next year to athens i would like to learn so i don't have to bother her to be my translator. i think it would impress her alot as well. i am willing to learn the languag full time until it comes natural to me. I am more of a hands on person and would actually need someone that could teach me the basics and go from there... i am not so interested in learnign to read it or write it... i just want to speak the language.

I am a young aspiring scholar, and I would like to learn greek as my third language because of the effects that early greek culture has had on the western world. I would like to be able to read some of my favourite old stories in their mother language, such as the iliad or the odyssey. I also intend to attend university studying the classics, and greek or latin courses are taken there, so I would like to get a head start on that information.
I have no knowledge as of yet of greek. I have never studied it, and have had very little exposure to it in my life. I am willing to dedicate as much as 2 hours weekly to learning greek, though if it is determined that I would need more then I would be open to the idea.
I am a passionate, musical english and french language writer, looking to expand my horizons.
