I am interested in learning to speak Japanese proficiently, and ready and write simple words and phrases. I lived in Japan for one year and attained a conversationa l level and was able to read and write about 250 characters, but it has been four years since returning to the US, and about two years since I have used the language.
I would like to have a live lesson once a week, and will study for two to three hours a week on my own.
I would like a teacher who is fun, and highly perceptive of how a student learns best, and can make individualize d recommendatio ns on how to study to maximize results.

I am learning for enjoyment/pos sible career advancement. And eventually moving to Japan.
My proficiency is very basic. I can count to 10 I know days of the week. I can read a majority of Hiragana/Kata kana, and a few Kanji. My pronunciation is rather good. I own a dictionary, Kanji flashcards (c.300 cards), a grammar book, and a lesson book already. I mostly need improvments with grammar, sentence structure, and conversation. As well as learning more Kanji. I could do lessons maybe 4 times a week with weekends. I am a student and go to school from 8am-330pm, available weekends all day. I would like to do 2 hours per session. I'd like my teacher to be a Native speaker and can speak good English as well. I have weak memory and need constant reinforcement of what is taught, so homework would be helpful.
