I am looking for a tutor or teacher who can work with me to learn Ukranian. I am A beginer with no experience what so ever. My husbands family is Ukrainian, but rarely speak it now. I can read and write in Ukrainian, but I don't understand it. My conversation skills are extremely basic and limited. My reason for learning the language is that I was brought up in a Ukrainian family that rarely spoke the language, but I've always had a strong desire to learn. I hope to travel to Ukraine in the future too. My goal is to be able to carry on conversations in Ukrainian at an intermediate level with ease and to be able to have a good understanding of someone speaking Ukrainian. I would like to meet with my tutor twice a week with intensive training and I am interested in getting a University level teacher. I want a teacher that will teach me casually but will jump in and correct my mistakes. I would prefer a talkative teacher so that I can absorb as much Ukrainian as possible. My teacher should have lessons for me to work on between our meetings, like perhaps a list of verbs to focus on and basic Ukrainian reading material.
